Concept Artist

We are now accepting portfolio and reel submissions for super-cool digital concept artists for pre-production including character, prop, and environment design on interactive, transmedia and CG animation projects. We'd love to see fantastical and epic environments, creatures, stylized characters, robots, vehicles, etc... If you can do 'em all then great, but if one or a couple of genres are your specialty show them off to us.

Applicants must:
  • Be able to self motivate and self organize
  • Be capable of adapting to different styles (realistic, cartoony, comic, game art, etc…)
  • Possess strong knowledge of anatomy and proportion, human and creature
  • Have a solid foundation in traditional arts
  • Be imaginative, creative and adaptable.
  • Have a great sense of lighting, color, and composition
  • Work great on a team and respond well to direction and criticism
  • Draw and paint digitally (expert in Photoshop or Sketchbook)
  • Be able to work quickly and efficiently: speed-paint and sketch as needed, and able to refine and detail as well.
  • Be in tune and up to date with current illustration and design trends
  • Love video games and animation and movies (sci-fi, fantasy, and family)
  • Be able to draw multiple perspectives and orthographics

  • Plus but not required: Able to concept and prototype in Maya and Z-brush

At any given time, Oktobor Animation offers a limited number of internships to local students and recent graduates. Accepted artists get hands-on experience in our animated productions, and gain industry specialized experience and training in a dedicated CG-production pipeline.
